The role combines strategic procurement leadership with hands-on operational buying responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit current supplier spend, relationships and risk exposure
- Develop supplier segmentation, approved supplier lists and procurement controls
- Negotiate subcontractor, labour-only and supplier agreements
- Manage buying frameworks, group pricing and discount structures
- Oversee depot purchasing across multiple sites, ensuring pricing consistency and stock efficiency
- Supplier onboarding, compliance and performance management alongside SHEQ
- Produce board-level reporting on spend, supplier performance and savings opportunities
- Manager tenders and bids with commercially robust supply chain solutions
Essential Experience
- Strong background in procurement, buying or commercial management within construction, FM, M&E or building services
- Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers across multiple trades
- Knowledge of CIS, IR35 and construction supply chain compliance
- Experience negotiating subcontract and supplier agreements
- Proven ability to deliver savings and improve supplier performance
- Comfortable building processes and driving change within a growing organisation
