Electrical Engineer / Electrical Panel Fitter (Full-Time)

£12.21–£14.50 per hour | 40 hours per week | On-site (Belfast & site work as required)

Role Overview

As an Electrical Panel Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of switchgear, control panels, and distribution equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring accuracy, technical skill, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble switchgear, control panels, and distribution equipment
  • Carry out steelwork assembly and component positioning/mounting
  • Perform copper work, including busbar mounting, cutting, bending, and punching
  • Install mains and control wiring, including metering
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures in line with company policies
  • Conduct on-site installation and maintenance work when required (may include work outside normal hours)
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the training of apprentices/trainees

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in electrical panel building
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work additional hours at short notice
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Criteria

  • ONC or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering

Hours of Work

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

Pay

  • £12.21–£14.50 per hour, depending on experience
