An established and growing engineering business is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
The Role
- Design low-voltage electrical systems for a range of building projects.
- Produce electrical layouts, schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Carry out cable sizing, load assessments, fault level studies, and lighting calculations.
- Work closely with clients, architects, consultants, and project teams.
- Attend design meetings and site visits as required.
- Provide technical support throughout project delivery and commissioning.
The Person
- Degree or HND qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and electrical design software.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with Amtech, Dialux, Relux, Revit MEP, Trimble, or similar software.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies including solar PV, EV charging, and battery storage.
- BIM experience.
- Membership of a professional engineering institution or working towards Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status.
