We are working with a leading global engineering manufacturer that is seeking for an experience Buyer to join their fast-paced procurement team.
Role:
- Manage daily procurement of goods, materials, components, and services.
- Ensure continuous supply by coordinating supplier call-off orders and managing long lead-time items
- Monitor and control consumable inventory, conducting weekly reviews to prevent stock shortages
- Enforce purchase requisition procedures, ensuring all requests are approved, accurate, and processed on time
- Maintain adherence to consumable spend budgets and identify opportunities for cost reduction
- Generate reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and stock availability
- Stay informed on market conditions, including inflation and supply chain trends
- Build effective working relationships across all departments to support operations
Requirements & Experience:
- Previous experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally within a manufacturing environment (Essential)
- Experience using Sage systems (Desirable)
- Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to maintain accurate purchasing records (Essential)
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality standards (Desirable)
- Full, clean driving licence (Desirable)
