We’re delighted to be working with a locally owned business in Greater Belfast who are recruiting for a logistics coordinator to join their team. Reporting to the Operations Director the logistics coordinator will be responsible for liaising with internal departments, couriers and international logistics firms to ensure prompt and cost effective delivery of goods.
Your day to day:
- Providing quick prices to team members for international shipments.
- Providing weekly updates to team members showing expected delivery dates of goods in transit.
- Setting up agreements with forwarders for new international shipping routes.
- Investigating and establishing shipping requirements for entry into new markets.
- Negotiating competitive prices with forwarders.
- Designing and implementing effective shipping procedures.
- Liaising with International warehouses to ensure goods are shipped in a timely, cost effective manner.
- Accurately identifying all international commodity codes and ensuring these are applied correctly to all shipments.
- Dealing with all aspects of transport paperwork relating to customs clearance.
- Negotiating competitive rates with courier companies and ensuring systems for shipment are put in place.
- Matching and signing off related invoices.
- Working closely with Operations Director and Accounts Department to ensure freight budgets are controlled.
- A minimum of two years experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- 3rd level qualification (preferred)
- International CPC (preferred)
- Proven experience in negotiating with couriers/ shipping firms
